MEPs: don’t sit on your hands

Nothing about Brexit is certain but at the moment the UK is due to leave the European Union on 31st October 2019.

That means the new MEPs elected in May will lose their seats in the European Parliament on the same day.

So that leaves them with 4 months to do some work.

Here are 4 things we’d like UK MEPs to do in the next 4 months to make trade fairer for people in developing countries:

1. Join the fair trade movement.
2. Get up to speed with what Brexit could mean for trade policy.
3. Speak out against unfair trade and investment rules.
4. Sign the pledge on business and human rights.

The number of MEPs you have depends on the region where you live in the UK.

You can write to all of the MEPs in your region or deselect the ones you don’t want to contact.
